where else can you grab a man's face in the dark?

where, indeed, but the mattress factory?
my sister asked me, why are you buying a new mattress? it is a valid question.
for me, the mattress factory is the perfect balance between pure aesthetics and art that demands the viewer to think existentially....especially the james turrell light installations.

and in the mattress factory, you can play, and completely lose yourself doing that, and then the next moment experience something that will forever change you. it is unique in that way. also, they aren't very strict about their photography policy, unlike the CMA, where we got yelled at several times.

and i got to grab a man's face in the dark...
see pliades, and you will know what i mean.

next stop, the Warhol.

our plan

laurie and i have decided to try to visit 1 art museum a week. the truth might be that we won't always see a museum every week, but we are going to at least try. we thought it would be fun to have a blog for it, so that we can share what we saw, what we think, and maybe encourage other people to visit and spend more time checking out their local museums. we've started off in pittsburgh, because this is where we live, but plan on visiting other cities close by (new york, baltimore, philadelphia, etc.) to check out some of the musuems there. we're not art snobs, we just enjoy beautiful things, playing in museums and sometimes getting yelled at for taking pictures. we want to share our pictures, our impressions, and also our ridiculous stories. we hope you enjoy!
